FTP

FTP, the File Transfer Protocol, doesn't have a very good security track record - but that is mostly due to the really bad early implementations. While the protocol leaves a lot to desire, it is the standard for website upload and pretty much unavoidable.

We run pure-ftpd on OpenBSD/sparc64 to provide FTP services, including control channel encryption.
